Description

Street Fighter III: New Generation is a 2D fighting game, and opens the third (fourth, counting Alpha) Street Fighter's tournament. Only Ryu and Ken come back. The rest of the characters are new:

  • Alex. An American fighter (and new lead of the series), who uses a mix of wrestling, kickboxing and street brawling.
  • Dudley. A British boxer.
  • Elena. An African princess, using the Capoeira style.
  • Ibuki. A female ninja.
  • Necro. A victim of illegal experiments. He uses Electricity and his flexible limbs.
  • Oro. A weird hermit, fighting with mystic arts.
  • Sean. A young Brazilian-Japanese fighter. His style mimics Ken's and Ryu's.
  • Yun and Yang. Twin (palette-swapped) Kung-Fu experts.
  • Gill. Leader of a secret organization ("Illuminati"), and final opponent. He can manipulate ice and fire.

The gameplay is similar to other games in the series, but there are several new abilities and features introduced. Now, characters can dash, retreat, do leap attacks, parry, and use "Super Arts". The rest is the same - the fight is a duel with mostly fists, kicks, and special powers, lasting until the life bar of a participant is depleted, or the timer reaches zero.
