January 2009: It is revealed the company has laid off 100 employees as a result of a decision to focus its wireless division on making games for smart phones. The company closes its San Diego, Calif., U.K., and German wireless game development offices. The Universomo studio in Finland was continued as the center of the company’s wireless game business.
May 2007: When THQ, Inc. acquires Universomo, Ltd. it is added to the THQ Wireless Inc. division.
