Matthew Hubbard is a game designer and programmer who has worked for several companies including Atari and Activision.

Hubbard graduated from Cal State Hayward (now Cal State East Bay) with a degree in Mathematics in 1978. He returned to Cal State to get a Master's degree in math in 2001.

He appeared on the game show Jeopardy! in 1984 and won $25,550. He no longer makes video games but still designs board games and card games as well as toys. He is retired from teaching math. He taught at several schools in the Bay Area, including Laney College, CSUEB, Berkeley City College, University of San Francisco and Diablo Valley College.
