Eiji Kure (呉 英二), real name Akio Ishihara (石原 彰生, born 1952), is a game designer and programmer from Saitama, Japan and the founder and president of Kure Software Koubou. He worked as a middle-school science teacher in the 1970s, but after encountering a Sharp MZ-80 computer and becoming fascinated with the potential of personal computers, he quit his job as a teacher and started making computer software full-time. He worked as a freelance programmer for Dempa Shimbunsha and Bullet-Proof Software for several years before starting his own company in 1985. As of 2023 he is still the president of Kure Software Koubou.
