Biography edit · view history

Gary Gygax was a game designer and author best known as a creator of the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) which was co-written with Dave Arneson. The game was originally published by Tactical Studies Rules (TSR, Inc.), founded by Gygax and Don Kaye in 1973. It significantly influenced many first person shooter, strategy and role-playing video games with some being directly based on D&D including Baldur's Gate and Dungeons & Dragons Online. Gygax provided voiceover narration as a guest Dungeon Master in the latter game.

Gygax had started development of a computer game entitled Lejendary Adventures in 1996 but it was never finished and the game ended up being released as a tabletop game instead.
