Toshiyuki Takahashi (高橋利幸), better known by the name Takahashi Meijin (高橋名人, "Famous Takahashi"), was an executive at Hudson Soft and the public face of the company from 1985 until May 2011. His rapid-fire skill in shooting games was turned into Hudson's 16SHOT (16 shots per second!) campaign , promoting Star Force and later Star Soldier; it included such items as the Shooting Watch, which would measure a player's button-pressing ability and compare it with Takahashi's. In 1986, Takahashi got his own game, Takahashi Meijin no Bōkenjima, better known elsewhere as Adventure Island, starring him as the main character.
For nearly his entire tenure at Hudson, Takahashi made regular appearances, getting his own comics and TV cartoons, appearing on television shows like Game Center CX, lending his voice to retro-game-themed music like YMCK, and maintaining an official blog on Hudson's website.
In May 2011, Takahashi announced that he would be leaving Hudson at the end of the month, after nearly 29 years with the company. He has since joined the social media company GaCha Communications.
