David Johnson is a visual effects artist, and as of 2017 serving as the CEO and Creative Director for Undertone FX, Inc.. He is a two-time VES Award winner, published author and one of the founders of the Real Time VES website, Discord and Facebook group.

Johnson served as the head of the FX department for 8 of his 10 years at Infinity Ward, Inc.. Before that he worked on Halo 3 at Bungie, Shadowrun at FASA Studio, and spent five years as an art generalist at WildTangent. His first game dev projects were at Viewpoint Digital/3Name3D, where he worked as a 3D modeler.
