Sam founded his own company at the age of 17, called Infolder. As a Chief-in-Editor for websites such as Infolder and Console.be, he was responsible for day to day operations of the company and managing the editorial staff. Infolder launched as early as 1999 and was a follow-up of gaming site GamesFeedback which was launched in 1995 by Sam Van Tilburgh and Woody Hennekam. Both sites became a big success, mainly in the Benelux.

He started Marketing and Journalism studies in 2002 but soon got an offer to act as a the Press Officer / co-organizer for the biggest gaming event in Belgium called "ING Futuris Powerplay", co-organized by Variety and sponsored by the ING Group, and left the Plantijn en Moretus Hogeschool (Antwerp, Belgium).

In late October 2003 he got a job offer to work for Lionhead Studios Ltd. as a Community Liaison Officer and he accepted and commenced work at the Guildford (Surrey, UK) based developer in early November 2003.

Sam has a diploma in "Audiovisual Arts" and a "Business Diploma".
