Brian Scott Kemper

Brian Scott Kemper got his B/A in Fine Arts from The California Polytechnic University of Pomona, with one year of studies at Penn State University, St. College, in his home state of Pennsylvania. Even though his curriculum did not include computer-related art courses, his studies concentrated heavily on illustration, multi-media and painting. He graduated with a 3.5 g.p.a in June 1988.

After graduating college he first entered the world of Theme Park designing, working for Battaglia and Associates, in Irvine CA. At that time he learned important storyboard iillustration & watercolor techniques and architectural designing skills. He began his work on the computer in 1993 while receiving on the job training for a Video game company, Alexandria, in Los Osos, CA.

From there he was hired at Davidson and Associates, in Torrance CA where he worked on designing and creating a wide variety of children's educational and entertainment software titles. He designed the Fisher Prices' line of CD Rom learning titles including: ABC's, 123's, Castles, and Ready for School, to name just a few. He also worked on several of Davidson's famous series, "MathBlaster" CD Rom titles. He also worked on several projects for Internal & External Communications ( a company in Marina del Rey that specialized in developing CD Rom employee training software for companies like Anheuser-Busch, Merriot Hotels, and Ibson printers. He also developed two titles for Global Interactive in Westwood CA, one featuring the late Jim Varney. "Monster Island" and "Jack's Adventures beyond the Beanstalk" were completely storyboarded and all backgrounds created with his original look and style. His work for Advanced Medical Ventures, "Tummy" ( a title made for a medical product Previcid) can be seen on commercials today featuring "Tummy" a 3/D stomach character living and interacting in his skewed little world. He also created the CD cover artwork for the comedian John Pinette's award winning comedy CD "Show me the Buffet!", which was featured (painted) on the outside walls of the famous Sunset Strip's Tower Record Store.

Upon leaving Davidson in 1997, Brian went to work for New World Computing in Agoura Hills CA, a division of 3DO software, Redwood City, CA. He has grown into a senior-level artist, and while he is very versatile in his contributions to their game titles, he concentrates most of his talents in designing the gaming interfaces. He has been a team member in creating titles like: Might & Magic VI,VII,VIII, Heroes 3, Legends, and is currently working on several new titles for the Sony Playstation 2.

His future goals include more work on his "hand-painted" originals, hoping to someday have a gallery showing of his whimsical, but very skilled artwork.
