Biography edit · view history
Geoff Howland started doing small programs at a very early age and did his first text role playing game at age 12 on his Amiga. He latter became fascinated with 3D and worked on a polygon texture mapped gouraud shaded engine around the time DOOM II was released but never completed the game for which it was being written. Since then he did a few small demo games just to complete something by making a 3D version of Breakout and a 2D side-scrolling platform game. After completing those small projects he began on a isometric engine for what would turn into the Veiled Threat project, a game that was never released.
In December 2000, Geoff was working full time as the President and Lead Programmer/Designer for Lupine Games. He was also the CEO of GameDev.Net, Editor in Chief of GameDictionary.com, Advisory Board Member and Judge for the Independent Games Festival, Speaker at the 1999 XGDC and author of game design and development articles.
