Biography edit · view history
Blake Robinson's career in the games industry began in 2001 when he joined Electronic Arts as a tester in their London based studio. He quickly progressed to a lead and before long he had moved into a proper programming position, creating various tools for the department he worked in. As a Tools Analyst, it was his job to make sure the teams had everything they needed to develop, test and release games. This included applications to manage and task staff, web applications to forecast and model project schedules and small tools that supported the team during the development process.
In 2007, Blake moved to Dundee, Scotland to join Realtime Worlds Ltd. as a senior tools architect. Helping to build a QA department from the ground up, he was also tasked with creating many of the automated and manual tools that were used company-wide to develop the game All Points Bulletin. Automation software created included tools to monitor and report on memory usage within the engine powering the game, web-based solutions for tracking the branches that changes and features had filtered into, high-end reports, critical to completing development of various titles within the studio and various high-end, scalable solutions for project management.
In 2011, after the closure of the Realtime Worlds studio, Blake worked as a developer for Outplay Entertainment where he helped to create their flagship games, WordTrick and Booty Quest. Blake left Outplay in 2012 to pursue freelance work.
