Biography edit · view history

Larry E. Jordan was one of the first owners/users of the IBM PC in 1982. He developed the Galaxy Trek game as a way of learning to use the new computer. When finished, he donated the game to the Capital PC User Group (CPCUP) Software Exchange for sale to its members. The game is a derivative of the other ASCII-text based Trek games that were available on other platforms at the time.

Larry also developed communications software for hobby and for sale during the period of 1982-1985. He lead a team of CPCUG members who enhanced the original RBBS-PC bulletin board software written by Russell, adding features such as the Xmodem file transfer protocol. Tom Mack and Ken Goosens added other enhancements to the software over the years 1983-1992, making the bulletin board famous in communications circles.

Larry co-authored the first communications and networking book for the IBM PC. The book was revised six times, stayed in publication for 14 years and sold over 150,000 copies. He was also a Contributing Editor for PC World for two years.

He currently runs a successful engineering firm in central Florida shown at: www.jordanengr.com
