Game Groups > Game feature: Hotspot highlighting
Some games, especially classic point-and-click adventure titles, involve "pixel hunting" where the user slowly moves the cursor across the screen to discover if a small area in the environment can be interacted with or not or if it hides an item that can be picked up. Some games however feature hotspot or object highlighting where the user can press a key to highlight all elements in the environment where interaction is possible, thus minimizing or removing pixel hunting entirely.
Limitations
- This game group is not for games where objects or parts of the environment light up automatically when the character approaches them (e.g. Life Is Strange). For this game group the user needs to initiate the highlighting by pressing a key.
