Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series - Episode 1: Tangled Up in Blue
Description official description
Guardians of the Galaxy are closing in on Thanos, the legendary Mad Titan, who is set on ruling the known universe and with the help of Eternity Forge he just uncovered he may get a chance to make is reality. Our team of guardians, who consist of Star-Lord, the team leader, Gamora, Thanos' adopted daughter and a trained assassin, Drax, a warrior set on avenging his family by killing Thanos, Rocket, a money-loving rodent with some mad engineering skills, and Groot, the heart of the team who can only ever so eloquently talk to Rocket, tracked down Thanos to an abandoned Kree outpost on an unidentified planet. They crash-land on the planet's surface near the entrance to the ruins.
First task, open the gate, second task, locate Thanos, third task, defeat Thanos. It all more or less goes according to the plan, and to their amazement, and with a help of Rocket's special weapon made especially for killing Thanos, the team executes the mission. Thanos defeated, and with a job done, they are left with one question hanging above their heads... what next? Visit the mining colony known as Knowhere and drink themselves into a stupor is what they chose, not knowing that the next danger is looming on the horizon and is going to surprise them when they least expect.
After defeating Thanos, Star-Lord took Eternity Forge and treated it as nothing more than a trophy cup, drinking from it while celebrating the victory over Thanos. Little did he know Eternity Forge is more than just a trinket and there are people who will do anything to get it. One such person was Hala, one of the last remaining Kree who is set on using it to resurrect her dead people... more importantly and personally, her dead son. After she forcefully takes Eternity Forge from the guardians, they track her on her warship known as The Revenant. However, it turns that Star-Lord is no match for her in direct combat and ends up killed. However, he held Eternity Forge which resurrected him from the dead. The guardians just started to realize what power Eternity Forge really holds.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is identical in gameplay and graphical presentation as other Telltale adventure games of the same era, using branching story based on player's choices during various action opportunities and dialogues. Star-Lord uses jet-pack boots which lets the player change vertical level during exploration elements which are always centered on a small areas between dialogues and cut-scenes. The player can access ship's computer to check codex which contains information about characters so far met, and check e-mail messages. There is a way to die if you fail at certain quick-time event scenes during combat, but you can quickly continue from the last checkpoint which is never that far back.
