The Callisto Protocol challenges players to master a thrilling blend of hand-to-hand and ranged combat, including a unique gravity weapon once used by Black Iron guards to control the prison population. The Good
- Pretty visuals.
- Visceral fights.
- Some good voice acting.
The Bad
Everything else:
- Story is pathetic. It's somewhere on the Doom 3 level, only takes itself even more seriously. Characters have nothing to work with and just wasting good voice acting.
- No interesting gameplay situations. It's got a competent melee combat, stealth system, kinesis from Dead Space, some crafting mechanics, but seems like the designers had no idea what to do with all this. So, it's just one big corridor with mechanics showcases on the way but no real gameplay.
- Level design is unimpressive, it's just square blocks of assets put together. Occasionaly we get to see glimpses of something interesting, but that's it.
The Bottom Line
Bland big budget interactive movie. Heavily dissapointing.

Trivia
Pre-order content
Customers who pre-ordered the Windows Steam version received Retro Prisoner Skin (one character and two weapon skins) as free DLC. That makes the content identical to the standard Xbox version The Callisto Protocol (Day One Edition), but not the PlayStation version as that one has platform exclusive Contraband Pack DLC.
