Toribash
Description
Toribash is a 3D turn-based fighting simulator created by Hampus Söderström. Featuring both singleplayer and multiplayer games, players control an avatar based on ragdoll physics. The basic aim of the game is to damage the opponent in strong or creative ways, where damage is awarded with points. Fighting consists of different sets of turn-based stances where each limb (neck, chest, shoulders, wrists, feet, knees, etc.) can be controlled individually: each joint can be relaxed, contracted, extended or held by clicking them.
During each turn-based sequence, players can revise their strategy, with a seemingly endless amount of moves. A ghost image shows where the character will move next based on the selected actions. Hard blows can break joints and entire body parts can be torn apart. Special actions allow for grip or high jumps. When body parts different from hand or feet touch the ground while attacking, the player is disqualified.
There is full 3D rotation and zoom, replays, different models, modifications that introduce new characters and weapons, and more. Scripts can be created through the LUA scripting language and are offered as downloadable mods. There is also a ToriShop where players can buy new types of blood, joint colours, textures, avatars and more. The game is constantly under development and new features are added gradually.
In multiplayer games, players earn belts or dans of different colors based on the amount of matched played (ranging from 0 to +10,000). The official website has an active forum, a wiki, and online rankings and leagues.
