Trivia
Cover Athlete
The cover athlete, Brett Favre, was announced in April 2008. Shortly after, he decided to retire and the original packaging shows him in the outfit of his latest team, Green Bay Packers. However, in July of the same year he unretired and joined the New York Jets. At the US release day Electronic Arts made available digital packaging for print (Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and PSP) that shows Brett Favre in the outfit of his new team. An updated roster was also made available for the Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and Wii editions to have Favre as the quarterback of the Jets. It is downloaded automatically when playing online. For offline players, Favre is shown in the NFL Greats and he can be moved to the free agents roster pool in the Franchise mode to make him available in the game.
Online Servers
Electronic Arts closed the game's online servers for the PSP (all regions), PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions on 8th February 2011.
