Minions Paradise

Minions Paradise is a free-to-play town builder based on the animated movie franchise. The Minions are on a cruise when Phil manages to sink the ship. He ends up on a deserted island and feel it is his task to build a paradise town and give the other minions a good time so they are no longer angry with him. The mechanics are similar to other titles in the genre. The player has to collect various resources to construct new buildings and create items, gradually expanding to cover the entire island. This is done with the waiting mechanic where actions take some time to complete and can optionally be skipped by spending the premium dubloon currency. New minions gradually arrive and they provide new activities and missions. Collecting resources is done by tapping buildings when the work is finished. The player has to assign them tasks to complete. There are also various mini-games to buy or to unlock.

Resources include coconut, gas, bamboo and so on. Many resources can be combined to complete new items and gifts. By completing missions, party points are earned that act as experience. With every new level new functionalities are unlocked as Phil gives a party for the other minions. New missions usually require completing gift requests on a bulletin board. Storage space for items is limited, but can be expanded over time. After level five the marketplace is unlocked where goods can be bought and sold. The basic currency called sand dollars is required to construct new buildings. The game is launched with five mini-games where bonuses can be earned. One of them for instance is played with a minion dragged holding a fishing pole that has been caught by a crocodile. A water course has to be completed, jumping over rocks and collecting items. Bonuses can also be earned by connecting to Friends through Facebook and completing tasks together towards an overall goal.
