The game's title screen.
Before the player sees this in its entirety they must enter a new player id, or select one that has been created previously
There are two game modes, both are timed and both offer the player hints
The game starts with an optional introduction. The player job is to look for the diary of Princess Kisin, the last heir to the north-eastern Mayan kingdom
The start of a game begins with a plot summary. There's a similar scene at the end of each level
This is the map screen
In Stage One the player must find 18 runes. There are seven runes in each of three locations and one location must be unlocked.
The first time the game is played the player is given advice on how the game is played
All clues are in riddles. Once the riddle is solved the player searches the picture for the answer
When a location is cleared this screen is displayed. The player is then taken to the map area to select the next location
The player has to find a number of objects to complete each stage. Only in the final stage do they have to find all the objects to complete the stage
Each stage ends with a block rotating puzzle. The puzzles get harder as the game progresses. The darkened area shows two columns have been correctly aligned
At the end of each stage the player resolves a picture puzzle. When that is done the picture and the relevant entry in Princess Kisin's diary is revealed
Flashback scenes play just the same as regular scenes but give the player more time
An example of a riddle
To unlock an area the player must solve a riddle to place each glyph. When all have been placed they press UNLOCK
Sounds hard but multiple attempts are allowed so its not too bad
This may be a Mayan burial ground but the objects come from all over the world and are both ancient and modern
The game gets harder as the player progresses. In stage one there were just eighteen runes in three locations. In the penultimate stage they must find forty
The rotating block puzzles get harder as the game progresses. Stage one was a 5x5 grid, this is 9x9. The puzzles with locked and hidden cells are the toughest though
The game is now over
The game's high score screen. For some reason Moby Gamer's score of 04h 19m was not recorded
The game's help function differs from the in-game help. This screen is the first of three
This game was released as a freebie with Enlightenus II: The Timeless Tower (Collector's Edition)
It was unlocked when the player completed both the main game and bonus level
