Twinsen's Odyssey
Description official descriptions
After freeing the world of Twinsun from its evil dictator in the previous game, the hero Twinsen has since gotten married, is planning to have a child and has settled down at home. One day, Twinsen finds out that his friend, a creature known as the Dino-Fly, is struck by lightning and hurt. Further investigation reveals that there is something strange going on in the skies on Twinsun; and indeed, visitors from outer space have arrived. Do they come in peace, or is there a sinister goal behind their appearance? Twinsen once again embarks out on a quest for the good of his world...
Like its predecessor, Little Big Adventure 2 (Twinsen's Odyssey in the US) is an adventure game with action elements. The game's interface and controls are similar to those of the first game. The focus is still on exploring the game's world, interacting with its characters and objects. The four stances - Normal, Aggressive, Sneaky, and Athletic - have also returned, and must be used in the right situations to advance the plot. The game's world is quite large, containing some optional objectives and quests, which makes it similar to sandbox games. It retains the isometric perspective from its predecessor for indoor locations; outdoor navigation now features rotatable camera, and the world is rendered in real 3D.

The Good
Although I usually don't like games with combat, this is the exception. I love everything about Twinsen's Odyssey - the atmosphere, the music, the puzzles, the characters and even the combat. I've had this game since its release in 1997 and I still pull it out about once a year to play again. Even though I know the puzzles and solutions, I am just as enamored by the game as I was the first time.
The Bad
That there is no sequel!
The Bottom Line
A beautiful adventure game all around and appropriate for all ages. You will be fully immersed in the world of Twinsen's Odyssey, with its amazing locations, story, characters and music. In my opinion this is one of the best games ever released and has held up all these years. Give it shot if you get the chance and I guarantee you'll be staying up past your bedtime, no matter what your age is!

One of the best adventure games ever produced.
The Good
The story was wonderful, and the characters and world were well developed as well. It was truly immersive, and the music is still in my mind today (I've converted them to mp3 and still listen to it!!). Gameplay was excellent, although a little on the easy side. The graphics were interesting - in outdoor settings, the engine pre-rendered a 3d image to a static background (a la Alone in the dark) dynamically, depending on your angle. The voice acting was done fairly well for a translated game. And look for the time commando cameo!!
The Bad
Perhaps many veteran gamers would find this game a little easy. Otherwise, the only other disappointment is there was no sequel.
The Bottom Line
A wonderful adventure in the vein of Alone in the Dark, but with a family-oriented audience in mind. Still, any adventure game lover would enjoy it.

Trivia
There is a freeware Breakout clone hidden on the game's disc. It is an earlier game by Frédérick Raynal, called Popcorn and you can find it at \Unsuppor\Popcorn.
