Operation Spruance: The Naval Warfare Simulation

aka: USS John Young 2: A Realistic Warship Simulation
Moby ID: 71709

Description

Operation Spruance is a sequel to USS John Young, and lets you command a US destroyer of the Spruance class in the Persian Gulf.

The game has missions where you must defend civilian cargo ships against enemy aircraft and prevent attacks from both Iranian and Russian naval forces, who are using both surface ships and submarines.

The Spruance has many of the actual systems available for your use, selectable from the function keys, e.g. satellite & radar threat screens and missile/cannon weaponry & defense systems. Its submarine hunter helicopters, towed arrays and sonar screens are not implemented, nor are the Phalanx anti-missile cannons in place.
