Description official description

This time, Lolo has a red friend who will do for him some of the work. Unlike the two previous Lolo games, here you can wander around a world map and enter different locations in a non-linear fashion. However, some of the locations remain blocked until you find a key after completing another level.

The gameplay is very similar to the one of the two previous games. You have to collect all the hearts in each room. Enemies will prevent you from doing that, and others will appear once you have eaten all the hearts and are hurrying towards the exit. The puzzles involve mostly pushing things to prevent enemies from stopping you.

Lolo 3 manages to top the first 2 games

The Good
If a game series insists on relying on the same formula game after game, it generally starts to wear pretty thin by the third installment (think Megaman series). However, The Adventures of Lolo 3 managed to beat that trend. How? It managed to have 100 room-puzzles to solve rather than 50 which each of the previous games featured. Plus, each room-puzzle is a brand-new experience in itself, as opposed to games that stick to a repetitive action formula.

This is also an excellent game for players new to the series. Lolo's grandfather makes an appearance to carefully explain the gameplay basics.

The Bad
My biggest gripe with this game is that I could never finish it. There are certain room-puzzles in this game that are notoriously difficult.

The Bottom Line
The Adventures of Lolo 3 relies on the same formula as the first 2 games. Oddly, that does not diminish the appeal, entertainment value, or the challenge of room after room of logic puzzles.
