CeeBot3 Educational Programming Software
Description
CeeBot has been designed for teaching programming to students from 11 years on with a modern pedagogical approach: autonomous learning, creativity, interdisciplinarity, staged in a colorful 3D environment. The students program a robot that draws still images and animations with a sound track.
CeeBot3 features a complete object-oriented Java-compatible language, but only a few basic concepts are taught in the exercises: simple "repeat" loops (non-standard in Java), functions without and with one float parameter, "for" loops. With these concepts the students can draw cartoon-like animations. Many more concepts are implemented and documented, including several variable types, arrays, file management instructions, and class definition. Advanced students can use these features to implement complex algorithms.
The demo version has no time limit and you can use it to teach programming in a classroom. It contains 6 out of the 25 chapters of the full version. If your students already know some basic programming concepts, CeeBot3 demo is a complete programming environment that offers an introduction to multimedia and will allow the students to apply their programming skills in a motivating environment. If your students do not know anything about programming, you will need the full version in order to get a complete educational tool that will do most of the teaching by itself, offering a smooth pedagogical progression with more than 100 exercises.
The interactive debugger will help the students to understand the first programming concepts and debug the most advanced algorithms.
