Boxes II

Boxes II is a single player, keyboard controlled, shareware falling block puzzle and is the sequel to Boxes. As with the previous game the story behind the game is that the player has been left alone on a space station and has the job of stacking the colour coded boxes. The cargo hold was dealt with in the previous game but the officer’s quarters had been overlooked and these require a lot of work.

Gameplay is identical to the previous game, all the boxes are the same shape and size and come in pairs. This time around the playing screen starts with lots of fixed boxes scattered around in complex patterns, often shielded by other blocks. The player’s task is to stack four blocks of the same colour together at which point they are removed from the screen, the level ends when all the boxes present at the beginning are removed.

The shareware version of game contains ten levels and three midi classical tracks while the registered game has one hundred and twenty-seven levels, more music tracks and more backgrounds.
