Description
Ricochet is a single player, mouse controlled, tile matching game with an Japanese theme.
In this game the tiles behave like rubber balls which the player selects by clicking on one and then moves it around the screen as they move the mouse. In the early levels the balls are all of the same colour and the player has to make strings of four or more of the same colour, completed strings disappear. As the game progresses the player encounters bi-coloured balls which match either horizontally or vertically and they have to make longer strings. There are hazards such as stone balls which cannot be matched, wind which deflects the balls, and on some levels gravity reverses.
There are three game modes;* Strategy: This game mode has fifty four levels and the object in each is to make enough combinations to clear the level.
- Arcade: This is very similar to the Strategy mode, the difference being that in the Strategy mode the player had to score enough points in order to progress whereas in this mode the player has to clear the level before the countdown timer expires. This mode also has fifty four levels.
- Puzzle: There are twenty four levels in this mode where the player is presented with a selection of balls and is tasked with replicating a pattern.
The game has sound, high score tables for each game mode, and can be played in either full screen or windowed mode. The game also installs eGames' Game Butler, a game browser that gives the user a single access point for all installed eGames titles.
