The game starts with the usual company logo screens. This is followed by a short animation showing the vehicles leaving the fire station. Then comes this title screen
The game starts in the office where Tonka Joe explains the controls
Logging in. Before playing the game the player must select an existing identity or create a new one. This i sthe only place the keyboard is used
Once the player has logged in Tonka Joe explains the hotspots
In the office there lots of hotspots. The player can view their certificates and print pictures to colour in later. This is from the selection of firefighting operations, i.e. the mini games
Driving the ladder truck to a fire<br>left clicking on the mouse starts & stops the vehicle, moving the mouse steers. Space sounds the horn. Big green signs give directions
The ladder truck has arrived at the fire which is at Tonka Toolworks.<br>Tonka Joe introduces the game
Tool Factory Fire game, level 1: Tonka Joe gives instructions "The fires are behind the windows marked with a tape measure"
Tool Factory Fire: The player must fire the water cannon to break the glass. Then they must fire again to dowse the fire
After every mini game there's a short animation in which Tonka Joe usually says "You're the best .... we've ever had' or words to that effect. The player then gets the chance to play again
Rescue Training<br>By clicking on the arrows the player positions the bucket so that the firefighters can escape the building
The Warehouse Fire. This is a bit like Whack-A-Mole. A fire appears. The player clicks on it and holds down the mouse button until the fire is out. Aiming is automatic

the Park Powerwash<br>This is a variant of the Warehouse Fire game. The player targets the areas of dirt and holds down the mouse key until Tonka Joe says it's clean

Volcano Chopper Patrol<br>The player clicks on the direction arrows to move their point of view. When they see a fire they click on the centre circle to lob a barrel of water at it
Copter Kitten Rescue: The player clicks on the direction arrows to move their point of view. Only kittens who look the mother cat the kitten will get in the basket.
The Forest Firebreak game<br>The aim is to flatten all the dead trees so that the fire, on the left, can't spread to the forest on the right. Ahead left is a mud pool obstacle
The Beach Buldozer game<br>Much like the Forest fire game the player drives around flattening everything that's on fire and avoiding obstacles
The Firework Machine<br>The controls let the player set the shape, sound & colour of the firework. The mouse is then used to target and fire them. When it's over the show can be replayed
The Job List screen<br>From here the player can go to any mini game
The load screen. this is shown as each mini game loads and unloads
