It gets a little worse to a home console port!
The Good
The graphics look great, three songs sound cool like "Booty Shaker", "Funky Sea", and "Caribbean". The song "Caribbean" is actually "Islander" from Cruis'n World, but with the beginning of the song was shortened out.
The Bad
Some of the sound effects sound annoying, there's cars that are white little squares which can make you easily lose, from what I can assume, there was no cars (the white squares) that made you lose in the arcade game. The controls are okay, in the stats screen, they expect you to literally press the START button, the control setup aren't like they are in Doom 64, it's just "control setup 1, 2, 3, 4, do you confirm any of them?" Some of the songs in the game are okay, almost every song in the game doesn't fit in the game, and, they aren't cool and memorable. Almost every projectiles like a tree log are digitized which is annoying, you think they might remove the platforms that are digitized, but no, it's still the same thing.
The Bottom Line
This game is an okay game, there's some minor flaws, but it's part of the "Cruis'n" series, I'd play it if I were you, there's great variety of levels and cars.
