Internet Board Games
Description official description
Internet Board Games is a compilation of thirteen games which were sold by JC Research's. Apart from Chess and Checkers all the games were sold both separately and in mini compilations as part of their Stone Master Classic Series.
The player may play against an AI player or a person on their pc, play against a person over a network (the product came with two discs to make this easier), or either a person an AI opponent over the internet via dedicated game servers.
The compilation was originally released in 1997 with just eleven games, Chess and Checkers were added in 1998. The games in the later compilation are:
- Checkers
- Chess
- Fox & Geese
- Go
- Renju/Gomoku
- Hex
- Nine Men's Morris (Mills)
- Mancala
- Dalmatian Pirates & The Volga Bulgars often called just 'Pirates' in menus
- Push and Shove (Abalone)
- Reversi (Othello)
- Wild West
Games are played in one window while another, optional, window shows each player's score and the time remaining for them to make their move. The in-game help also opens in a separate window as do the game configuration options. There are multiple AI opponents with different personalities and customizable skill levels
The computer game was supplied a game board and stone playing pieces
