Knack's Quest

Knack's Quest is the companion game to the PS4 title Knack. It consists of three chapters (The Basics, Icy Caves and Stealth Knack) that are unlocked gradually, and each chapter has three levels each. The game is played on a board filled with different types of parts. The player needs to swap two to line up at least three identical ones, in a straight horizontal or vertical line. They then disappear, points are awarded and new parts are introduced on the board. Levels usually require a number of matches to complete them. Larges matches or combos provide additional points.

The protagonist Knack is present near the top of the screen. He is made up out of small parts and his transformations are part of the game. There is a meter near the bottom of the screen with the remaining time. When it runs out, the game is over. By quickly forming combos however, it is possible to max it out and Knack will morph into a larger form. This also makes the meter wider, providing more time. This process can be repeated a few times until the largest form is achieved.

Quick matches also fill up up to twelve parts of three sun stones in the top right corner of the screen. When a sun stone is full, it can be tapped to activate a powerful attack. Larger attacks can be used if the player waits until the second or the third stone is entirely filled. One of these attacks for instance lets the player draw a line over identical parts linked together horizontally, vertically or diagonally, removing them all at once.

A global score is kept across sessions. The player's performance is used to unlock objects and items that can be transferred to the PS4 game by syncing through a PSN account. Certain objects consist of sets with multiple parts to complete the item. It is also possible to unlock an endless mode. The game is free and does not have advertisements or in-app purchases.
