XenoTroid

Description

In XenoTroid, the player takes control over a space ship which needs to collect power cells. However, there are two main difficulties: there are other things floating around the screen, mostly asteroids, which hurt the ship when touched. Also the ship is subject to inertia, i.e. it does take a relatively long time to brake or turn. Since the power cells have a small size, the main challenge lies in actually catching them without bumping into something else. Everything moves in straight lines; either horizontally or vertically.

Every time a certain number of cells was caught, a new level is reached which adds more obstacles to the mix. The ship also has a gun which can be used to destroy obstacles; additional ammo can be picked up like the power cells. After the inevitable death, the player receives money which can be used to purchase additional ships which handle differently.

The second game mode planet escape works differently: here the ship can only be moved up and down. The ships's position is about one-third of the screen from the left edge and all other things move in straight horizontal lines. The goal is still to collect power cells and to avoid everything else.
