Bruce Lee: Enter The Game
Description
Bruce Lee: Enter The Game is a 2D brawler with the martial artist Bruce Lee as the protagonist. The game consists of 40 levels that are played in confined scenes, not as long side-scrolling sections like most brawling games. In most of the scenes he needs to survive and defeat all enemies, but sometimes he also has to protect another character or free someone from a cage while fighting enemies.
Lee is moved left and right by tapping and holding down. Attacks are performed as swipes. There are three types of basic attacks based on the direction of the swipe: straight, downward diagonal and upward diagonal. Attacks can be chained into combos. Counters against incoming attacks are done in the same way. Next to the health meters above the heads of opponents, sometimes an arrow will appear in one of the three directions when they are about to attack. These attacks can be countered quickly by swiping in the marked direction. By hitting enemies a fury meter is filled up in the top left corner, especially when performing combos. Once the fury meter is full it can be tapped to set Bruce on fire. He can then move quicker, attack faster and does more damage for a short time. Combos also fill up a coin multiplier, providing more of the basic currency. Lee can dash in both directions and tap parts of the scenery to jump up or down, which is also used to perform flying attacks. There are three special attacks based on the same movement as regular swipes, but by holding them down instead of releasing them right away. Special attacks are more powerful, but take some time to charge. These are sometimes needed to break through an opponent's guard.
Up to three stars can be earned per level along with a bonus challenge, based on optional objective. Stars are needed to keep unlocking new levels. By winning fights coins are earned that can be spent on upgrades. He also levels up and regularly receives new items. At level 10 an endurance survival mode is unlocked and there are daily challenges with rewards for timed objectives. The main fighting upgrades affect vitality, power and fury. Different weapons become available gradually or need to be bought, such as gloves and nunchakus. There are different types of outfits that influence the fighter's statistics.
The game is free-to-play based on two currencies. Coins are the basic currency and jade is the premium one for real money. Jade is used to unlock powerful upgrades as well as boosts. Boosts can be equipped prior to fights, for instance providing a shield against the first hit, starting with a full fury meter or with a combo of 20. Lee has a limited amount of lives and when they are used up it takes some time to regenerate or additional lives have to be bought in exchange for the jade premium currency. Any purchase removes all advertisements forever.
