Description

Just like in space, nobody can hear you cry in Hell. That's why after finding out that some of his embarrassing pics were stolen and posted on the internet, Ash, the rabbit prince of the underworld sets out to kill every infernal monster that saw them. Joining him are Nestor, his humble servant who occasionally gives advice and upgrades, and Ms Fountaine, his personal healer, to whom Ash can return and restore his health.

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is a humorous platformer mixed with elements from other genres. Some parts are a parody of popular culture and other games. It can even break the fourth wall occasionally. The player controls Ash, who early in the game gets a hold of various guns and a spinning saw jetpack. The saw can kill monsters, drill through hard surfaces and increases the height of a jump. The main goal is to kill a specific number of monster bosses scattered around the levels, in order to open Hell doors to new areas. The world is interconnected thanks to ordinary exits and teleporters. This allows Ash to return to previous areas and take care of unfinished business. Simple monsters patrolling the levels respawn after some time, with various traps, especially moving spikes and acid, being the only permanent danger. Additionally, the player can collect gifts, coins and jewels. The loot is then spent in shops in exchange for hats, masks, wheel customizations, guns and upgrades.

In order to kill most bosses it's necessary to shoot them or drill them until they have zero health. Others are protected by invulnerable shields or find themselves in inaccessible places, so defeating them requires a puzzle-solving approach using nearby objects or temporary guns. To finish off a boss, the player must successfully complete a mini game similar to the ones found in WarioWare, otherwise it will bounce back to life. Some of these mini games are quick time events (QTEs), centered around pressing the right keys at the right times. However, there are also multiple choice questions and "spot the odd one out" games, among others.

Ash spends a big chunk of the game carrying a gun, so for the most part it acts like a platform shooter. On the other hand, in specific levels he loses all of his weaponry, and has to avoid being hit by monsters. During these levels bosses are killed via the previously mentioned puzzles. In one particular level Ash hops in a spaceship and the game becomes a top-down shoot 'em up. The player must collect fuel power-ups, otherwise the rabbit will lose health when hit. Eventually, the player will control other vehicles as well. The Island and the Missions are two other genre changers. The Island can be accessed from the main menu and it acts like a zoo (advertised as a resort in the game) where all defeated monster bosses reside. The player can put them to work in the mine, the manor, the lab or the harbor, each offering either money, extra life, an item or a surprise gift once enough work has been put into it. With time, overworked monsters will get mad or sad. Before these can continue working they must be either disciplined or sent to rest. The Missions can be found in remote places of the levels. They come in groups of three, asking the player to complete certain objectives, such as performing a complicated stunt in midair, collecting a number of coins or killing a set amount of monsters before the timer runs out. Once all three missions are completed, the player receives an item as a gift.
