Lumosity

Lumosity is a web site that helps you improve your mental functions. Lumosity describes it as "training for you brain". Using various mini-games, you can train your brain to improve your memory, attention, mental speed, mental flexibility and to learn better problem solving. Each category has subcategories. For example, under 'memory', there is remembering patterns and locations, associating names with faces, keeping track of multiple pieces of information in your head and recalling sequences of objects and movements. You can select all of these or none. The games control via keyboard or mouse.

Some mini-games include:* Speed Match: How fast you can say, accurately, if the next pattern is the same as the last

• Birdwatching: On a forest background, a bird silhouette will appear as well as a number in the center box. Click your mouse on the bird then select the number (1 to 5) that was in the box.

• Memory Matrix: A box with squares in it will appear. Some squares will flip to a new color then back. Click the squares that flipped.

There are over forty scientific mini-games. You can play games to test your memory, mental speed and attention for free, as an assessment. After your test, you are shown your current standings and must purchase an individual monthly, annually, biennially or lifetime plan or purchase a monthly family plan for up to five members to continue your training.
