Description

As an elite US Navy SEAL, you will tackle some of the toughest missions the military has to offer in the world's hottest spots. You will infiltrate Iraq and chase down a fallen satellite that cannot be allowed to fall into Iraqi hands. You will infiltrate Bosnia and chase down a stolen nuclear warhead. Finaly, you will infiltrate North Korea to rescue two downed airmen. Along the way, you will encounter all sorts of enemies. Can you do the impossible?

Navy SEALs is a budget 1st Person Shooter with a military theme. The weapons are somewhat authentic, but the conventions are tried and true: explore the level, shoot enemies, grab ammo and weapon(s) from fallen enemies. Follow the path until you get to the next level, rinse and repeat. No multiplayer available. Based on the Lithtech engine.

Generic Shooter v1.0

The Good
Oh well... it's a shooter game. I like to play shooter games. That's enough for the good.

Ah, okay: Sound is average and the missions are okay, too.

The Bad
The AI is a joke. The enemy soldiers either see me through walls or, in some cases, don't notice me at all even when I shoot at them. I gunned down three opponents sitting around a tent. I shot the first and expected them jumping to their feet and shooting me. Nada - he fell down dead, I shot the second, the third... no-one ever noticed. In other cases, I was sneaking around and they opened fire before I was around the corner (and in their POV).

Also, the level of detail is pretty... huh, cheap :) They used the LithTech engine but not their features. Everything looks like carved from wood.

The Bottom Line
If you just want another shooter, okay, buy it - it's cheap stuff. I would recommend buying The Sum of all Fears or Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza or any title from id Software instead.
