Maggie Bird

Moby ID: 63677

Description

Maggie Bird is a clone of Flappy Bird made for the Belgian TV program De ideale wereld (The Ideal World). It is also a parody on multiple levels. The basic concept of the game is identical, but it replaces the bird with a flying version of Belgian politician and secretary of immigration Maggie De Block. As she is known for being overweight, it takes a lot more clicks than in the regular game to keep her in the air and to make her pass the gates. On another level it ridicules her political party Open Vld, a liberal and economic party, for its motto "Mensen hebben vleugels" launched for the May 2014 Belgian federal elections. It translates as "People have wings". It was mocked in the TV episode the day before and once more in the episode when the game was released, fitting the Flappy Bird theme of flying.
