Description
This adaptation of cribbage can be played by either two or four players in teams. The main goal is to collect more points than the opponent. In a 2-player game, the players receive six cards each, two of which must be discarded, or in other words, "sent to the Crib". In a 4-player game, everyone receives five cards each and they must discard only one card. During the game, players take turns in owning the Crib (made of all the players' discarded cards). It means that if there are valid point-winning combinations in the Crib, they are added to the respective player's score.
When the actual play begins, every player must place a card on the table. The cards have different values: Ace is 1, 2-10 have the illustrated values, while Jack, Queen and King are worth 10 each. Every player is interested in completing a total value 15 or 31 of all the cards on the table. For example, if there is a 7 placed on the board, the other player should try to put an 8 to make a total of 15. This will add 2 points to his general score. There are other ways of scoring points, as well. Completing a Pair (e.g. two cards of 10) is worth 2 points, Pairs Royal (three of a kind) - 6 points, Double Pairs Royal (four of a kind) - 12 points, Run (three or more consecutive cards) - a number of points equal to the number of cards in the Run, Flush (four or more cards of the same suit) - a number of points equal to the number of cards in the Flush. Even if these combinations are made, the game continues until a total of 15 or 31 is completed. If the players cannot add a card without exceeding a total of 31, GO is called and the cards are removed.
The first player who reaches 121 points in his general score wins. If the opponent has less than 91 points, the winner is awarded 2 games to his match score. The number of games per match can be set in the Options menu.
