Project Stormos
Description
Project Stormos is a fast-paced game based around movement. The player controls Robo, a robot from the planet Binarios, to free him and his friends from the Designers. The game is played as a side-scrolling platformer, but the focus is on aerial movement and it is described as an anti-platformer. The goal of each level is to find the exit without touching the ground. This is done by performing and chaining aerial dashes that keep Robo in the air. The amount is limited (shown through a green halo surrounding the character), so he needs to be steered towards mid-air, orange buttons that recharge the dash. Dashing can be done in eight directions; vertically, horizontally or diagonally, and it can also be performed twice, quickly, in succession. Another way to restore dash is by defeating enemies or their bullets with a glowing light saber. Even though air movement is strongly encouraged, it can also be approached as a regular platformer. Landing on ground is not punished, but many sections of levels offer no way but through air to proceed. When dead, the entire level needs to be replayed, but most of them are rather short.
The game is accessed through an online account that is verified through an active internet connection. It contains global leaderboards with the fastest speeds and an in-game level editor to quickly design new environments and share these with other users.
