Red Faction Armageddon is the only game in the Red Faction series to have aliens. Their inclusion was mandated by THQ management, and was not a decision made by the development team.

Film tie-in

To bridge the events in Red Faction: Guerrilla and Red Faction: Armageddon, and coinciding with the release of the latter, a direct-to-DVD film was released in June 2011, Red Faction: Origins.
