Conflict: Middle East
Description
Conflict: Middle East is a detailed wargame/simulation of the Arab/Israeli Wars from 1973 until the present (1991). The action is historical and hypothetical. You can fight the entire 1973 Arab/Israeli conflict on an operational level as the Israelis or take on the more daunting task of the Arab forces. Choose the hypothetical 1990's scenario for modern day desert warfare. The game is fought at the Brigade/Division level where you will control every detail of land and air war down to the individual infantry squads, vehicles and gun tubes. You must also keep track of weather, supplies, and politics as they will impact many of your options.

The Good
Simple, yet it draws you in with a subtle addictiveness. For such a small, simple game, the replay value is high.
The Bad
There is a bug when 2002 comes around where the game may hang. But otherwise, for what it is, a great game.
The Bottom Line
A political simulation of age-old conflicts in the turbulent middle east. Set foreign, economic, and military policies to either promote the peace or instigate regional wars. The AI is decent, the interface is very basic, and the game has good replay value. There is an interesting 16Blitz/Mastertronic version of this game also, which appears to be the same, yet under different distribution. The box had a dove trapped in barbwire on the cover.
