Epic Role Playing Game to Run in High Resolution at Increased Frame Rates

Las Vegas, NV, October 30, 1997 -- The Claw Mountains, Huline Jungles and City of the Ancients will soon be even more visually stunning. Westwood Studios, creators of some of the most popular computer games of all time, today announced the mid-November availability of a 3Dfx enhancement for the recently released epic role playing game Lands of Lore Guardians of Destiny.

The Guardians of Destiny enhancement will be available for download in November from the Westwood Studios Web site for systems equipped with 3Dfx and Direct3D supported video cards. The download will allow the game to run in high resolution at 640 x 480, provide optimized lighting, increase frame rates to greater than 30 frames per second, provide bilinear filtering for smoother and more detailed textures and enhance the game's Mip-Mapping to increase the quality of detailed rendering at great distances.

Guardians of Destiny, which was released in September, is available at retail outlets worldwide and contains more than 120 hours of exploration, puzzle solving and combat. In the role of Luther, players journey the many realms of the Lands including the mighty Claw Mountains, the Huline Jungles, Halls of the Forgotten, and the mysterious City of the Ancients on a quest to rid himself of the magical power which plagues him.
