The adventure begins with an Arctic Explorer, separated from his companions while trying to resolve the legacy of his father, who disappeared on the polar ice cap thirty years earlier. With nothing more than a cryptic mention of Herculania as his guide, the Explorer becomes lost in an Arctic blizzard. You enter the character of the Explorer -- unconscious, drifting between strange and foreboding dreams. A shadow appears out of the Arctic mist -- the ship Herculania. Salvation or damnation?

The hauntingly beautiful yacht is decades ahead of its time in technology. As Herculania's layered power system is revived you begin to uncover a mystery locked away in frozen solitude for decades.

A mood of apprehension builds with the appearance of ghostly apparitions -- the lost passengers of Herculania! What happened to these passengers? Why do they haunt your every turn?

Discover that the beautiful Claire has been kept alive for thirty years imprisoned in a stark virtual world created by a powerful machine - - the Neurographicon. The souls of four murdered passengers fuel this sinister creation. Can you rescue Claire by entering the psychic debris of the four doomed passengers and freeing their souls?

The main playing area of the graphic adventure game, Morpheus, is aboard the technically advanced ship the Herculania. You become the the arctic explorer, Matthews Holmes, Jr who stumbles upon the ship while searching for his lost father.

Your adventure is not limited to the ship as you become aware of and learn how to enter dreamworlds, where the souls of some of the trapped passengers are waiting for you to release them.

Explore the ship, learn some of the secrets of the Herculania, but be careful that you don't meet the same fate as some of the passengers of the doomed Herculania. Like Morpheus, the god of dreams, there is someone present on the Herculania who has the power to keep you trapped in your dreams and the ability to release you to reality.
