Hamlet
Description
Hamlet is a redacted version of the famous play of the same name by William Shakespeare and presented as an adventure with a cartoon style. In the kingdom of Denmark Claudius and his assistant Polonius kill the king and queen to seize the throne. It is decided that Polonius' daughter Ophelia should marry Claudius, but then Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, returns from a long journey. Before he has the chance to avenge his parents and free Ophelia, a man from the future on a research mission lands his space ship on Hamlet, accidentally killing him. Since Hamlet is out of the picture, the unknown man decides to become a hero and free Ophelia himself.
Loosely based on the events of the play, the player guides the man through five acts to free Ophelia from the clutches of Claudius. The overall story is more or less maintained, with familiar characters such as Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Laertes, but Polonius for instance is a green man in a space suit. Using a humorous style the unknown man needs to solve many puzzles in a typical point-and-click adventure style. As it is aimed towards a casual audience, a number of typical elements is not present, such as a conversation system, an inventory, item combinations, or different actions. Each puzzle is set in a single scene where the player needs to click objects in the environment to manipulate them. Puzzles range from simple combinations to much harder challenges that require some trial and error, and sometimes quick reflexes. It is impossible for the main character to die. The main character can be clicked to see his thoughts and sometimes this is a requirement to solve a puzzle. When the solution to a scene has not been found after several minutes, a question mark appears to receive a hint.

The Good
-Simple, yet interesting puzzles.
-Colorful graphics, interesting design of characters and creatures.
-Useful hint system.
-The left mouse button is ALL you need, in order to finish this game.
-Cool boss fights.
The Bad
-Too short, can be finished in a couple of hours.
-It is not a traditional, point 'n' click (inventory-based) adventure.
-Some of the levels' puzzles include a strange chain of events.
-Not related to Shakespeare's tragedy in any way, which may mislead some people when buying the game.
The Bottom Line
You ever found yourselves with having nothing to do, on a hot, spring afternoon? Well, then, try this game, and embark on a quest to save Ophelia, from the clutches of the evil Claudius.
No, you won't be playing as Hamlet, but as a guy from the future, who travels back in the present, and while at it, decides to rescue the damsel in distress. So, forget any similarities with the famous tragedy, because this is as far as they get.
The game offers a very basic style of game-play, divided in a dozen of levels. All you have to do, is just click on hot spots on every level, in order to make things happen. The most important thing is to guess the correct order of events, so that you usually reach the end of the level, or overcome some of the obstacles, and continue on your journey. For example, if there's a plant, and you need it to grow, so that you could reach a spot that is otherwise unreachable to you, you just need to click on the cloud that's above the plant, and it will start raining, resulting in a rapid growth of the plant. Simple, yet satisfying, and funny in many occasions. Not to mention that after a few minutes, if you're still stuck on a level, you can use the included hint system, that basically gives away the solution to the puzzle on the level you're stuck on.
You also get to fight some pretty neat boss battles, when you're supposed to create a special chain of events, which will lead you to glorious victory, and progress in the game. However, be warned, as sometimes, you may find yourselves thinking about the right order of clicks, or you may even get stuck on some of the more-logical puzzles, that are scattered throughout the game, and vary from mazes, to card games. But, don't forget, the hint system is your friend, in times of need. :)
So, this game offers you some quality time if you play it, but that is actually its biggest problem. It's just too short. If you don't get stuck too seriously on some of the logical puzzles, or if you do, but you use the hint system, you will need 2-3 hours to finish it. And after those 2-3 hours of just clicking on your left mouse button, you won't have much else to do with this game. Luckily, a sequel is announced at the conclusion of the game, so, let's wait and see. :)
