Evochron Alliance features a very detailed tutorial to guide new players through the necessary basics.
Starting a singleplayer game in the freeform mode.
The jump drive can be used to quickly move around the system.
The jump drive in action. Similarly to the Jumpjet from the Star Wraith series it drains the ship's energy.
Checking your inventory and cargo.
First mission briefing in the campaign mode.
Combat basics are very similar to the Star Wraith games.
The pilot manager screen.
It is possible to engage in trade with pilots of friendly craft literally in mid-flight.
About to enter the atmosphere of a planet (chase view of the player's craft).
This is what a city on the planet's surface looks like. The automatic guidance system allows for safe passage right to the docking bay.
Once docked, you can buy equipment and weapons, sell goods, refuel and upgrade your ship. It is also possible to sign up for a contract job here.
The tractor/mining beam isn't cheap but it allows to salvage useful items like electronic equipment found in this container. Selling such items is one of the ways to earn cash in Evochron.
When you enter a planet's atmosphere the guidance system will show a path to a city's docking bay. The red markers mean that the city is quite far away.
Approaching the city. Landing your craft in the game isn't as difficult as in realistic flight sims but you need to be cautious anyway.
No contracts available in this system. Well, maybe it's time to move to the next one.
The jump drive also serves as a means of travel between star systems in the Evochron sector. Upgrading the drive allows to make farther jumps.
Evochron Alliance 2.0 main menu.
A scene from the opening cinematic. Starting with v2.088, all ship models and textures were replaced with higher-quality, professional art.
Evochron Alliance 2.0 introduced a completely new, fully 3D cockpit with updated, more realistically looking instruments.
The HUD can be turned off but the physical screens remain on the cockpit, unlike earlier versions where the HUD was simply a semi-transparent 2D overlay.
External view of the player's ship.
Flying in a planet's atmosphere.
An asteroid field.
