Broken Brothers

Broken Brothers is a real-time strategy game stripped down to the essentials and developed in seven days. The player needs to help Malakai find back his brothers who are in another part of the environment, captured by bugs. By building harvesters, hope can be gathered, the main resource of the game. That way, more advanced units can be constructed, both offensive and defensive. There are tanks that move in packs and bombers that attack from the air, while defensive measures are provided through anti-air installations and mobile turrets. Not all of the units are available right away, they are opened up when the first two brothers are rescued.

The army of bugs adapts to the player actions, sending larger creatures and countering the bombers with their own air units. The bugs spawn at a constant rate, so their breeding points need to be captured, gradually moving through the map. The game has a minimalist look with red, white and black as the main colours. The mouse is used to select and order units, scroll over the map and zoom in or out.
