Business model change

On 26 May 2009, the game has been made free-to-play. Revenue is instead made through selling cards. To that end the Play4Free-client doesn't have the same content from the get-go as the retail release:

• Only two decks with 16 cards each are included as opposed to 64 cards (16 per color) in the retail edition.
• No BattleForge-points as opposed to 3.000 included in the retail edition.
• Some features like the auction house or the ability to directly trade cards have to be unlocked first by reaching PvP rank 10 or PvE rank 4.

Online servers

The game's online servers were shut down on 31 October 2013.
