Description official description
Worms is a follow-up to Worms: Open Warfare, featuring the classical 2D gameplay and smaller weapon set from the first Worms games. This version has enhanced graphics for HD.
Each player has a team of worms that has to battle it out against opponent teams in a destructible terrain, with several wacky weapons at your disposal, similar to artillery games. There is single player, in custom matches or set challenges against computer teams; or multiplayer against up to four players locally or online.
There are three tutorial levels and twenty challenges with three difficulty levels. The completion time of challenges is stored on leaderboards. Several DLC packs were released afterwards with new landscapes and voice banks.

Online Play Takes Worms To New Levels
The Good
What is great about Worms (what I like to call "Worms HD" because, thats essentially what it is.) is a return to sensible weaponary that was in the original worms game by Team 17. The problem with Worms progression such as world party is there were way too many weapons that would simply wipe every Worm off the map and the element of strategy would be lost.
Thankfully, Worms is back on form with the conventional weaponry such as the bazooka, cluster bombs & air strikes being the order of the day to wipe out your opponent. What is also great about worms is that online play is now available and fans of the series have been calling out for this, for sometime. Online games are easy to enter and there are various modes, whats even better is that it has a well established community playing online. So there won't be any of the usual 2 months down the road no one is playing it, sort of thing.
The Bad
What I don't like about Worms HD version is the power meter, the original worms game had that down to a tea, but the build up power meter takes getting used to and a little less accurate. Also what bugs me about this game is that Team 17 have decided to make you pay for extra content when they could of just given us a few extra landscapes inside of just a few.
The Bottom Line
Multiplayer joy lies ahead, Single player is lacking in content, all the joys from worms are back and its worth a purchase on live arcade any day of the week.
