Title Screen
List of Chapters
Each chapter begins with such introduction
Intro cutscene
Introducing Gorath, a moredhel (dark elf) who plays a crucial role in the game's plot and is also a playable character
The goal is to protect the sword in the stone...
Map of the land
Traversing the countryside
Casting lightning on an enemy with the "Skyfire" spell. It only works if the enemy carries metal objects (e.g. swords).
Winter scene with a catapult, how romantic...
Though constantly being ambushed, sometimes the enemy comes in the form of magical traps...
Graveyards are a...er...interesting way (and not very ethical either) to find items...providing you have a good shovel handy.
Digging on the wrong grave or walking around in creepy area's might provoke an encounter with the local undead.
Character Statistics - Here portraying Gorath, the Elven warlord. Statistics increase automatically, indicated by a "red text" replacing the normal text.
Smaller towns can be explored physically and have separate 3D buildings. Inside the buildings there are only still shots, however
A full inventory screen
Each item has unique descriptions. Weapons and armor have a "more info" button, describing its combat statistics.
There are a different shops in the land, specializing in different merchandise for you to buy and sell items.
The game's dramatic writing manifests itself in even such a prosaic (for RPGs!) situation as a companion being lethally wounded in battle
Items displayed at stores may be haggled and bought. Failed haggling may prompt the shopkeeper to "sulk" and render the item "unavailable."
Taverns and Inns are a great source for information and to stock up provisions. An experienced bard may also gain money if he performs well enough or get kicked out!
Temples offer services to heal characters from ailments, provide blessings for weapons and armor, and some also provide teleportation travel.
The standard security device for many chests and buildings requires the skills of a good thief with nice bunch of lockpicks. Unless, you have the right key.
Temples that provide teleportation services may only be used if the party has knowledge of another temple location.
Night descended upon Midkemia... we strolled on the beach, gazing upon the faraway mountains, engrossed in our thoughts...
Some chests have an advanced security system. Solve the riddle to open the chest!
You will meet many people during your travels, offering you information and possible leads to sub-quests...
This is a 3D dungeon - the sewers of Krondor
You may ask these people various questions. Like why they didn't turn on the torches down here in the mine?
Towns offer a different services. LaNut, on of the first towns you will visit, for example provides a Fletcher and an Inn.
Highcastle, borders the Kingdom from the north while providing travellers with a local inn and an excellent armory.
Sarth, a fortress city home of the Great Library and Temple of Ishap. Though one might prefer the excellent armory they have here too!
The library of Sarth provides various interesting books on myths, combat tactics, magic and a whole other array of subjects...though finding those books are quite difficult.
Camp menu
Malac's Cross, formerly just a temple of Ishap until people started moving in for protection, comes with a temple of Ishap, an armory and a nice tavern with scheduled chess tournaments!
Some special locations add additional flavor to the story.
It was a lovely day... a field with some crops was ahead
The oracle appears to be a very old and very big dragon who seems to be only interested in Owyn.
The port town of Silken home of sailors and entry port to the Temple of Killian. Provides a local tavern and a shop.
Ambushed in a dungeon!
For a hefty 50 gold coins for a boat ride from Silken, you may reach the impressive Temple of Killian. The priests there may having something important for you to do...
Romney, a city under siege. The Guilds are fighting each other for control, bad for them, lucky for you. Prices here are sky-rocketing, sounds like a good trade option.
Sethanon, a ghost city surrounded just literally with such beings.
Of course I'm going to click on the well, James. No matter what, I WILL! This is what RPGs are all about, my friend
Cavall Keep - Meet Owyn's uncle here, though his castle just burnt down. The town has a nice inn and an armory.
The town of Krondor
Exploring a waterfall cave
If all servants of the gods looked like this, religion would sure spread fast.
A small grove and a bridge ahead
