Description

Like HadoGumi, the eighth entry of Toei Fushigi Comedy Series also gets a video game adaptation while it was still airing. In Maruhi Zigomar Sousa File, you control the 5 members of MarinGumi going around town trying to catch Zigomar III.

Unlike the show, Zigomar in the game only declares the time of his heist, not his location. You start a stage at 9AM and have to talk to NPCs around town to get clues about where Zigomar will appear before he arrives for the heist. While doing this investigation, Zigomar's men will occasionally appear in disguise. If they catch your active character, that character will be kidnapped to a different location on the map and frozen there. You can rescue frozen characters by touching them with another MarinGumi member.

When Zigomar arrives for a heist, he will also appear disguised. A popup will occasionally appear on the bottom right showing his current walking direction to give you a clue which NPC he is. If you guess correctly and talk to Zigomar, the chase begins. Zigomar will always outrun your active character, but he cannot run past streets which are body-blocked by other MarinGumi members and he cannot climb over buildings. You have until 9PM of the same day to corner Zigomar or get an instant game over.

After foiling 4 heists, you fight Zigomar in an action-based final boss battle where your performance grades from the heist stages are converted into starting health. In this fight, Zigomar will shoot fireballs at you from behind a wall while you throw projectiles at the wall to break it down.
