Commando
Description official description
Commando for Commodore 16 is a very loose adaptation of Capcom's arcade game. It consists of five non-scrolling screens of action based on locales from the original game: there are enemies in fox holes in areas one, two and three, bridges to cross in areas two and three, enemies on an open field in area four, and an enemy fortress in area five. There are two kinds of enemies, either sporting guns or rocket launchers, though they only fire either straightly or diagonally downward. All enemies in an area must be destroyed to get to the next. Once all five are cleared, the game restarts from the beginning. Unlike in the original arcade game, the player's soldier can only shoot and not throw grenades.

Trivia
Commodore 16, Plus/4 versions
The official release by Elite for the Commodore 16 is rather simplistic with 4 directional controls, no scrolling, and contains only 5 singlescreen levels. C16 coder Richard Ikin later explained that it was his first programming job, he was required to do everything himself, with no senior staff supporting, and no development tools beyond graph paper for the graphics, and notes that the game does not scroll as he had no idea how to make a C16 screen scroll, having basically blagged the job with minimal 6502 knowledge (and nobody checked). There is also a 48KB Commodore Plus/4 specific (presumably homebrew) version, which is much closer to the Commodore 64 version in terms of gameplay, graphics and sound.
