Flip or Flop: Home Edition
Description
Flip or Flop: Home Edition is a single player, mouse controlled, tile matching game.
Poor Granny: She has lived in her mansion, the most expensive house in town, all her life, but she never paid any taxes so now her house has been repossessed and she is living in a crummy care home. The player's task is to take what little savings she has left and make money buying and flipping houses until there is enough cash to buy her mansion back.
Starting in the Trailer Park, the cheapest place in town, the player buys a house. It needs some work done on it, and this is where the tile matching game comes in. The tiles represent new doors, wallpaper, paint etc., and the player has to match and destroy # amount of each tile within a time limit in order to flip the house and make a profit. This process is repeated throughout the game, becoming more and more difficult as the player progresses: for example, matching game for the first house is played on a 4x4 grid looking to match # tiles for three improvements; before long the player is working on a 6x6 grid, trying to match tiles for five improvements.
Unlike many tile matching games, the player does not move the tiles directly; there are arrows at each end of the rows and columns and the player clicks on these to move the tiles. Matching three tiles in a row or column removes them, matching four tiles produces a bomb which will remove a row or column when it is included in a match, matching five tiles produces a multi-tile which can match with any other tile in play.
